Top Road Trip Songs
For most people, the prospect of a long drive is not particularly exciting, with hours spent in traffic jams and navigating around unfamiliar roads. However, perhaps the only thing that really gets motorists through the tedium of driving is a good playlist.
Here are some of the best songs to play in the car if you’ve got a road trip coming up.
- 1)Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run
According to Time Out magazine, the best car song of all time is Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run. Even people who aren’t Springsteen fans will be familiar with the catchy tune, and will no doubt end up singing the chorus as they put their foot on the pedal.
Reviewing the song, Adam Feldman told Time Out: “Embedded in the scuffed poetry of the lyrics is a potent combination of rebellion, sex, disgust and determination – brought to life by the throaty passion of Springsteen’s voice, the liberating wail of Clarence Clemon’s sax and the sheer propulsive force of the E Street Band’s backup.”
- 2)The Proclaimers’ 500 Miles
The Proclaimers’ most famous song, 500 Miles, is particularly apt if you have to travel that same distance, and this is probably one of the main reasons why the Scottish band’s tune is still so popular 20 years after it was released!
As The Planet D said: “There’s nothing really amazing musically about this song … but when it comes on the playlist, everyone stops to sing along. It’s one of those songs that you can’t help but love.”
- 3)Beyonce’s Single Ladies
A great song choice for all the girls out there is Beyonce’s Single Ladies. Still going strong 11 years after it hit the charts, this has become something of a cult song.
Try and not sing along if you can!
